In 1991, when the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) implemented mandatory drug and alcohol testing for all safety-sensitive employees, employers became responsible for developing complex and comprehensive workplace drug and alcohol programs—outlining not just testing requirements, but referrals for evaluation and treatment, provisions for education and training, and clear, written policy documentation.
Working as regulatory attorneys specializing in the transportation and oil and gas industries, Bill Parker and Cody Wadell witnessed the struggles and needs of their clients. Bringing in environmental specialist Brad Byrne, the trio came together to create a product different from their competitors: TEAM Consulting was born, offering clients a full-service Third-Party Administrator (TPA) led by legal, environmental, and regulation experts, but delivered with the flexibility and personalized service of a small business.
